Self Rescue

Climbers of all ability levels should know how to get themselves and their climbing partners out of a jam. This course will teach you how to deal with problems that could arise while climbing. Knowing how to solve these problems could save a life. Clients will learn and practice escaping the belay, raising with mechanical advantage, leader rescue, lowering and rappelling with an injured partner, and passing knots through a belay / rappel device. These skills depend on knowing specialized knots and friction hitches, which are covered as well. Participants leave this course with the increased confidence and peace of mind that come from being prepared for the worst.
For extended full-days (over 9hrs), there is a $30 per half-hour charge added to the total trip cost.
